Behind the work
Anne Kucera's work explores the profound connection we have with the natural world. Evident in each handmade work is the presence and trace of the human mark, epitomising a reverence for the subject matter and the power it holds on the human perspective.
The works encourage curiosity; to delve deeper into Romanticism's idea of the Sublime. Lost, engulfed or confronted by their immediate existence, the figures move cautiously through the landscapes, but also emanate a comfort in the disarray. A respect for both the chaos and the calm.
